With the 2022 Civic, you’ll get an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 31 city/40 highway MPG. The Hyundai Elantra gets an EPA-estimated 33 city/43 highway MPG.¹

Beyond its standard efficient powertrain, the Elantra also offers a sporty and exciting driving experience with its N Line trim level—its turbo engine produces 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. At most, the Honda Civic creates 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.

Both the Hyundai Elantra and Honda Civic come standard with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, which allow you to access your navigation app, messages, and music right on the interactive touchscreen displays. You may find the standard 8-inch touchscreen in the Elantra is more user-friendly than the smaller 7-inch screen in the Civic.

The Elantra also offers an available 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen. It’s seamlessly integrated into the instrument cluster, so everything you need to know will be right within eyeshot. At most, the Honda Civic is only available with a 9-inch touchscreen display.

Though there are some similar safety features between the Elantra and Civic, there are some features that are only offered in the 2022 Elantra, including:

• Driver Attention Warning: Whether you are on a long road trip or just get distracted while driving, this system will help you stay focused and know when it is time to take a break from behind the wheel.
• Junction-Turning Detection: Available with Forward-Collision Avoidance Assist, this will alert you if there is a car turning into your path at an intersection, so you can quickly brake or steer out of the way to prevent a collision.
• Safe Exit Warning: You just parked along a busy road and you’re ready to get out. Not so fast! If a vehicle is quickly approaching from the side, this system will automatically lock the doors to prevent you from stepping out into harm’s way.
